Frequently asked questions
Do you travel outside of Hobart?
Yes. While I am based in Hobart, I service all of Tasmania. Events outside the greater Hobart area may incur a travel fee to cover time and transport.
How early do you arrive for setup?
I arrive 90 minutes before the scheduled start time. This allows for a clean equipment setup, a comprehensive sound check, and a venue assessment to ensure the lighting and audio are optimised for the room.
Are you insured?
Yes. I hold $30 Million in Public Liability Insurance (PLI). This is a standard requirement for major Hobart venues. I can provide the certificate of currency to your venue upon request.
Can you act as the Master of Ceremonies (MC)?
Yes. I offer professional MC services for an additional fee. This service includes pre-event consultations and script preparation to ensure your event's formalities are managed smoothly and professionally.
What equipment do you provide?
I provide a complete, professional sound and lighting package tailored to your venue size. This includes high-fidelity PA speakers, a wireless microphone for speeches, and intelligent dancefloor lighting. I only require a standard power outlet within 5-10 meters of the setup area. For TUX LIVE (instrumental sets), I can operate independently with my own amplification or integrate directly into the venue’s house system if required.
How do we handle the music selection?
My process is collaborative. I use my 10+ years of experience to read the crowd in real-time, but I also encourage you to provide a Spotify playlist of "must-play" and any "do-not-play" lists during the planning phase to ensure the music reflects your vision.
